It is true that every remarkable achievement in history has its roots in a moment of creativity on the part of an individual who - a posteriori -the rest of the world considered as a creative genius. It is also true that the vast majority of people around the globe believe that the ability to come up with innovative, original ideas is part of the DNA we inherit from our ancestors. This latter idea couldn’t be further from the truth. Being creative is essentially a double act. It is the act of being able to come up with new, imaginative ideas and it is also the act of turning those ideas into reality. We are not creative when we think of ideas but when we think of ideas and eventually give to those ideas flesh and blood.
Konstantinos Karypidis, “The Greek Mentalist”, has been giving flesh and blood to ideas for the last 20 years. He has performed from street corners to huge stages around Europe, on television and in almost any venue you can imagine. He has written theatrical performances, children’s fairy tales and directed three shows. He is a firm believer that creativity does not exist, but it’s the side effect of productivity and of working in a very specific way.
In this keynote speech, he will be showcasing his incredible ability to shape physical and psychological space around him. At the same time, he will share the strategies and creative methods he uses as a professional performer to redefine his art, push the envelope and challenge himself to constantly create new performance pieces. Come join us for an end of season MYEO cycling to the sea. We'll be setting off from Richmond Park at 10am on Friday November 9th . All abilities welcome, this 50 mile ride will include a low climbs option for those who want to take a leisurely pace and a more hilly option for those who'd like a little more of a challenge.
The day will be a great opportunity to experience an epic route out to the coast, network with like-minded cyclists
This ride will include a coffee stop en route and a late lunch upon arrival in Brighton. We'll then return to London via the train, arriving in good time for us to head back to our respective homes before dark.

He has been with the firm since 2009, and now leads the Consumer and Retail Practice in the UK. He specialises in commercial strategy, with a particular focus on pricing – both in the Consumer Goods & Retail sector and B2B services environment.
He works with both UK and international clients, including leading FMCG companies and a number of Private Equity firms where he works across their portfolios.
James is a regular media commentator and conference speaker on pricing topics, having been called on extensively in the last 2-3 years to cover retail price wars, deflation and the spiraling of promotions in the UK market.
Prior to joining Simon-Kucher, James was Head of International Pricing at Hertz Europe. Before this he held the role of Senior Pricing Manager in the global services division of Ricoh, a leading IT hardware and services provider.
James studied Politics with Economics at Goldsmiths College (University of London) and completed a Masters in Politics & Government at Birkbeck College (University of London).
